Job Summary:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join a major national consumer distribution company as a Business Systems Analyst based within their dynamic IT department in Cardiff. Some business travel throughout the UK. Previous experience within a similar role is essential, as well as a proactive and positive attitude.

The Business Systems Analyst's role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organisational functions and business processes.

Responsibilities/ Objectives:

* To manage and control the implementation of business systems utilising internal and external resources.
* To investigate potential solutions for identified business issues taking costs and business benefits into account.
* Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
* Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
* Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
* Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
* Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
* Regular meetings with senior decision makers, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.

Work conditions and Travel:

* Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines. Time off in lieu will be agreed.
* Travel as and when required to local destinations, possibly including up to 3 nights' stay.

Skills & Experience:

* IT or computer related degree, or equivalent
* Proven experience in Business Systems Analysis and extensive experience in Systems Analysis.
* Project Managed the implementation of a system
* High levels of communication skills coupled with negotiation skills
* Control of 3rd party resources
* Ability to write coherent technical documentation
* High attention to detail
* Strong customer service orientation
* Good presentation skills
