VP of Engineering

The VP of Engineering role creates an exciting opportunity for an aspiring engineering leader looking to take a step forward in their career. Have a front row seat with this trusted and fast growing supplier data management platform company.
Be responsible for the success of the Engineering Team, spanning leadership, execution, planning and managing resiliance. Reporting into the CTO, to deliver the roadmap and optimise sprint velocity.

*As VP of Engineering, lead the Team and be responsible for development velocity, the quality of professional development, including hiring and performance appraisals.
*Be responsible for the delivery of the sprint, including task allocation, unblocking technical obstacles, supporting on technical challenges.
*Manage quality assurance.
*Work with the CTO to manage product releases and deployments.
*Own DevOps, from the monitoring and maintenance of systems.
*Responsible for technical incident response and SLAs for customers.
*Manage security policies and software development processes to maintain compliance with SOC1/ISAE3402.
*Promote a positive and supportive environment.
*Contribute as a developer in your own right where time allows.
Your experience
*Minimum of 7 years experience working as a developer or in a DevOps role in a team environment building customer-facing cloud-hosted products.
*Minimum of 2 years experience as a team leader or in a similar capacity taking the lead role in a development team or squad.
*Proven experience writing code and problem solving in Java and MySQL, and contribute as a developer in these disciplines in your current or previous roles.
Experience with Amazon Web Services or an equivalent cloud-hosting infrastructure.
*You currently work or have previously worked in an Agile development environment with a deep understanding of the tools and techniques.
*Experience working with Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence and are used to a Kanban approach to sprint management.
*A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar subject, or can demonstrate a commitment to further education in the field of software development.
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to build trusted relationships with colleagues.

*This role will be based in Lincoln and an affinity to or with the Lincoln area is required.
