Job Summary
A hands-on role, the Site Manager will control the receipt, storage, processing, client reporting, onward transfer of the waste and end-of-waste materials managed all site vehicle movements. Excellent organisational skills and a proven track record of meeting targets is essential. You are responsible for the safe, compliant and optimised operation of fixed and mobile plant and site activities associated with managing a licensed waste facility, so engineering experience would be an advantage. You will motivate and manage a small team to achieve targets, work proactively with colleagues across the business and ensure efficient operation of the site.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
· Lead and promote a safety culture, ensuring Health and Safety policies are implemented, and best practice is observed in all areas.
· Provide leadership to site staff; communicating purpose, responsibilities and achievements.
· Manage efficient and optimised performance of our recycling plant equipment.
· Develop and maintain a service delivery culture.
· Consistently review standard operating methods, identifying and implementing improvements to safety, productivity and profitability.
· Ensure all policies and procedures are complied with; including, but not limited to, waste acceptance, processing material to achieve end-of-waste status where applicable and onward transfer of waste and end-of-waste products.
· Accurate recording and reporting of quantities and classification of material received, processed, stored and transferred off site.
· Work within operational budgets and improve efficiencies.
· Accurate and timely reporting of key performance indicators agreed with the OM.
· Monitor staffing requirements and recruit competent staff as needed in conjunction with the OM.
· Maintain accurate records of staff skills and competency. Identify training needs and work proactively with the OM and safety & compliance manager to ensure sufficient skills resilience to safeguard continuity of operations.
· Provide the OM with a weekly report detailing performance and plans related to safety, inputs & outputs, finance and people.
Skills
· Leading a supportive and challenging environment to optimise team performance.
· Highly competent problem solving skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
