Aim of the role:
To be responsible for the day to day running of the planner and drivers, both operated and self-drive where applicable, working with the senior hire controller or depot manager to oversee driving staff whilst maintaining the companies 4 core values of Wowness, Trust, Together Matters, and Safety First.
Key component parts being:

*Run the planner, allocate the work daily/weekly and aim to fill the drivers with enough work to meet/exceed the average rev per driver where possible
*Ensure the routing is carried out with best utilisation to conserve fuel and maximise profitability.
*Responsible for managing the standing order list and ensure the correct PO's are relevant to prevent invoice queries
*Always ensure that no driver is working excessive hours and has the relevant rest periods made available to them
*Ensure drivers are using the correct standpipes and diesel locations and are always using Red Derv in the donkey engines
*Liaise with drivers for holiday requests ensuring you have enough drivers to cover the work where possible
*Answer the phones to take orders and ensure that all customer relationships are maintained to a high standard and that all operatives carry out their duties in a timely and safe manner
*Work closely with the other depot's in the network to ensure work on the borders is covered effectively putting safety and efficiency first
*Ensure all jobs have the relevant information before they go to invoicing to reduce invoice queries, including correct account number, order number and signature on proof of service.
*Maintain good relationships with our staff and customers to promote Wowness to our service provision across the region
*Liaise with the workshop to get the vehicles in for inspections and repairs and communicate back to the drivers to ensure this happens
*Ensure that the KPI's are created (If applicable) and checked by you before submitting to the senior controller or depot manager and question/challenge any anomalies that do not look correct
*Raise purchase orders for tipping and ensure recharges are reconciled and recharged
*Where applicable, ensure driver's timesheets are in and wage reports are completed, signed off by management and sent to payroll department
