Job Title: Business Development Manager
Job Details
(a) Responsible to:
* Head of Business Development
(b) Working Hours:
* Normal hours of work are those hours
necessary to fulfil the requirements of the
position to the satisfaction of the
Company, not less than 37.5 hours per
week and may include weekends and
Bank Holidays.
(c) Salary Range:
* Dependent on qualifications
and experience.
* Car allowance payable.
* Pension payable.
(d) Essential Qualifications:
* A good standard of education.
* A good command of the English language (written and oral).
* Accomplished in computer use and operating systems including Microsoft Excel,
Word and Outlook.
* Developed numeracy skills.
* Full and current driving licence.
(e) Essential Experience:
* Direct Sales experience in a B2B environment
* Solution led sales approach
* Understanding of the General waste and Haz Waste markets and approach
* Implementation of Total Waste Management services at client sites
* Inspiring presenter and comfortable taking the lead
* Excellent organisational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
* Experienced networker across industry
* Demonstrate entrepreneurial approach and ability to work on own initiative
* Demonstrate fact based, intuitive sales & business forecasting
* Solid commercial knowledge (deal making) and experience of added value sales in
the waste and recycling marketplace in the UK
* Demonstrates multi-level networking skills
* Ability to operate at Board level with both customers and internally
* Understanding of environmental management including operations, transportation,
technical, legislative and commercial aspects.
* Solid written and verbal communication skills

2. Job Summary (Description of main purpose of job):
* To source, review, create and deliver value adding, consultative, sales proposals to
prospects
* Achieve agreed objectives and targets
* Use pricing and other value adding tools to increase our profitability
* Build robust pipeline of potential new clients
3. Key Tasks:
* To promote, audit and enforce the application of the management's health, safety,
environment and quality assurance policies and other site wide health and safety
monitoring and procedures in order to secure and continually improve the health and
safety of the workforce and subcontractors, the minimisation of accidental loss
and compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation
* Maintain and grow the Sales Pipeline (New Business, Won & Rolling and Existing
Business)
* Regularly review pipeline progress, evaluate and review strategy and approach
* Develop robust strategy to achieve agreed & measurable KPI's relating to Pipeline
development and new business acquisition
* Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow
through to a successful agreement
* Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company
contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
* Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and
positioning
* Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on corporate
competitors
* Promote the company whenever and wherever possible and to seek lead generation at every
opportunity and identify and report new market opportunities
* Provide the marketing team with information that shows our activities in a positive
light and demonstrates that it is a value adding, innovative business partner.
* Manage and participate in targeted sales campaigns
* Manage and participate in project driven developmental market research / sales
campaigns
* Prepare and present reports as requested
* Prepare and deliver presentations to both internal and external audiences.
* Actively engage in appropriate trade association forums and other networking
events with a view to promote and represent the company. Report and communicate relevant
information arising from these forums.
* To control and protect all company assets and intellectual property
