Ideal Candidate will be a dynamic and forward thinking individual able to use own initiative and work as a part of a team, performing tasks involving advance repairs, maintenance, servicing of municipal and related equipment, be capable of exercising good judgment, provide engineering expertise and be able to use initiative in handling routine work and special assignments. Successful candidate will be expected to produce reports, challenge maintenance suppliers, parts suppliers and carry secondary vehicle inspections if necessary. Will maintain and build new relationships with existing business partners, customers and manufactures. Candidates must possess good communication skills at all levels, be PC literate and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of packages. This post will report directly to the Fleet manager, but will support all contract managers.

Being "O" licence holder will be appreciated however not a requirement.
What does the role involve?
* This role involves carrying out random secondary service and maintenance checks on our rental or owed fleet of plant and vehicles.
* This role involves challenging quality of existing maintenance providers, ensuring keep excellent service standards and high expectations.
* Ensure Fleet is being maintained following manufacturers recommendations.
* Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll review faults and service data to spot trends and recommend corrective and preventative actions to increase uptime and reliability as well as cost savings,
* Review patterns and trends in vehicle maintenance expenditure to identify potential problems and issues
* Undertaking root cause analyses, investigations on suppliers and vehicles, producing reports to document your findings
* Acting as a key contact, technical expert, and point of escalation for the customer and our internal team
* Investigate serious accidents and produce reports
* Collaborate in annual budget draft
* Control of budget achievement
* Assists in the development of the Fleet Services purchases, including parts, new or second hand plant, vehicles, tools etc.
* Assists fleet departments with the development of specifications for vehicles and equipment
* Ensure safety practices and procedures, including assistance in employees vehicle mechanics and safety training
* Monitor and performs random maintenance checks on vehicles, job cards, repair reports etc.
* Check repair work performed in workshop for compliance, safety and cost effectiveness. This includes physical inspections and road tests if necessary
* Communicate maintenance requirements to ensure maximum efficiency and implement correction actions as required.
* Ensure vehicles are clean and washed regularly following a schedule
* Monitor tyres usage
* Perform other fleet related duties as required

The nature of this role requires travel to and from multiple sites therefore a UK or European cat B driving licence is essential, HGV desired. The work occasionally may require to work evenings or weekends
