Role purpose:

To lead the specification, procurement and implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, including migration of data from existing finance and HR systems, system configuration, development of workflows, system launch and retirement of the old systems.

Responsibilities and duties:

*To project manage the implementation of the ERP, ensuring that all essential business modules are live by March 2020.
*To understand the goals and target outcomes of the transformation programme and target operating model as they apply to the implementation of the ERP and delivery of finance and HR services.
*To liaise with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve business processes
*To provide advice and guidance on best practice use of the ERP
*To write a requirements specification for an ERP, liaising with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) as required, and ensure appropriate sign-off of the requirements.
*To manage the procurement of the ERP solution including commercial negotiations and contracting.
*To develop an implementation plan, working collaboratively with the chosen supplier and internal SMEs.
*To ensure the goals, timescales and impacts of the ERP implementation are well and regularly communicated
*To lead the ERP implementation team.
*To establish a positive relationship with the supplier and manage this throughout implementation.
*To promote the ERP solution, ensure all services are aware of its capabilities and develop training and adoption programmes to drive increased internal self-service.
*To transfer knowledge to business as usual ICT, finance and HR staff and ensure the wider support organization is in place to support the ongoing management and development of the solution.
*To support the delivery of transformation technology projects as needed, such as supporting the roll-out and adoption of new tools and acting as an advocate of new technology.

Requirements:

* Vast ERP implementation experience within local government bodies
* Management of several End to end full life-cycle ERP (Finance) Systems Implementations
* Ability to quickly understand new technologies and translate their functionality, such that optimal solutions can be applied to business processes
* Ability to manage large or complex programmes with a high level of integration
* IT or project management qualification
* Understanding of finance and human resources functions and how they are supported by technology
