Job title: Support Worker
Location of the job:
Hamstead
Paid parking available on site.
Location of the interview: TBC - potential telephone interview.
Is driving licence required? - Yes - Access to vehicle desirable but not essential.
Contract type: Temp - 3 month requirement
Weekly hours: 35 hours per week across 7 days.
Working hours and breaks: Between 9am & 8pm
Pay rate per hour: £8.72 PAYE,
Will expenses be covered? - Yes, in line with company policy
The expenses of travelling to and from work will not be covered.
Start date: ASAP
Interview date: ASAP
Interview format: TBC
Is DBS required? Yes, enhanced
*Ideally Care Certificate or equivalent.
*Previous support work experience or experience working in hospital environment would be ideal (please ensure this is evidenced on candidates' CV)
*Knowledge of health and social care, e. g. how to transfer the patient safely, how to help the patient to sit on a chair
*Knowledge of working with vulnerable adults, people with mobility issues and people with physical disabilities
*Awareness of moving and handling
*Understanding of what signs of risk at home to look for and how to ask if any are found
*Valid right to work in the UK
*Up to date, enhanced adult DBS
*References (ideally covering 3 years)
*The following certificates would be ideal for the role: manual handling, safeguarding adults, infection control (understanding of what procedure to follow if the car has to be cleaned, etc.)
*Team player, able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
We are seeking a temporary support Worker to assist with discharges from the hospital. Typical duties would involve checking patient's welfare once they are taken to their home, arranging shopping, making a cup of tea, ensuring the home environment is safe for them. Lone working can be part of the role. A Support Worker will be assisting people with physical disabilities and reduced mobility, therefore knowledge of moving and handling would be beneficial.
