*Reports To Managing Director

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Management and supervision of the Driving Team
Waste & Recycling Services Limited in Salford to maintain
the high standard of service and delivery require to achieve
exceptional customer service for a fleet of 40 plus LGV
vehicles involved in collection of waste and recyclate
materials;
* Management and scheduling all traffic movements in
conjuction with the traffic office team including shift patterns
to ensure all KPI's are met. Conducting appraisals, setting
targets with agreed training and development plans and
motivating both the Traffic Office Team and Drivers;
* Ensuring full compliance with all legislation, regulations,
policies and procedures (external and internal) in regard to
the Fleet and Driving Team (including Health and Safety,
Site Licence/Planning, VOSA and Drivers' Hours);
* Identify any external training requirements for individuals
within the team to extend their development around their
roles, always with a view of future succession planning;
* Ensuring the Company's absence/sickness procedure is
adhered to and undertake Driver Return to Work interviews
as required;
* Conduct any investigations and disciplinary procedures as
required;
* Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers to
achieve best commercial terms for the Company;
* Carrying full accident investigations in relation to the LGV
fleet (including review and analysis of accident/insurance
reports) and prepare and conduct accident reviews with
Drivers;
* Analysis of vehicle tracking data and fuel management;
* Implement robust procedures to ensure full communication
between the members of the Traffic Office Team and other
departments;
* Help maintain a high level of customer satisfaction - polite,
cheery, positive telephone manner;
* Handle incoming phone enquiries, obtain and evaluate all
relevant information to handle inquiries or complaints;
* Respond promptly to enquiries
* Take ownership, document and record actions of any
customer complaints
Complaints Policy and Customer Service Policy and
Procedures through to resolution of issues;
* Direct requests and unresolved issues to the designated
resource;
* Work closely with Customer Care Team to ensure prompt
and efficient service to customers;
* Update customer records, service agreements etc and any
input to IT system and any additional administration duties;
* Communicate and coordinate with other internal
departments and areas of the business;
* You will help with general office tasks;
* You will always show respect to colleagues and clients;
* You will take responsibility for creating a clean and tidy work
environment.

Education and Experience:
* CPC Holder;
* LGV Licence;
* Driver CPC Qualification;
* Good general standard of education including English and
Maths;
* 'Train the Trainer' Qualification (would be desirable);

Key Competencies:
* Supervisory experience and skills;
* Good level of IT literacy - particularly covering Microsoft
Outlook, Word and Excel;
* Provide a good example to the team by personally showing
good time keeping, attendance and maintaining a
professional attitude;
* Highly customer focused and people orientated individual
who possesses excellent communication skills and is adept
with dealing and conversing with people at all levels;
* Excellent organisational skills;
* Ability to prioritise;
* Competent delegation skills;
* Help develop the material for CPC training and then
undertake delivery of this training to the driving team;
* Ability to train, develop and encourage the team to allow
them to be the very best they can be and to ensure they can
cover all tasks in the event of any sickness or holiday;

environment, give direction and contribute effectively to the
team;

Hours of Work Because of the nature of your position, flexibility in hours of work is
dictated by the requirements of the job; however core hours of work
in the Transport Section are 06:00 to 18:00 hrs Monday to Friday
and 06:30 to 13:00 hrs on Saturday.
Due to the nature of your work you will be required to work on
Saturday mornings on a rota basis and you may also need you to
cover for colleagues on the rota for holiday.
